- First and foremost i'm a beer man. My love affair with real ale began when my wife and I bought a pub in the Scottish highlands. Already having a reputation for serving excellent real ale, I grew to appreciate the great beers available in the region and eventually opened an onsite real ale shop. Moving south a few years later, I continued my passion for retailing quality beers by opening West Country Ales, in the heart of Cheddar Gorge.
